Tater Tot, age 100, passed away on April 11, 2011 at Waukesha Memorial Hospital. Tater was born on July 16, 2000 in Waukesha, Wisconsin to Potato and Micki Thelen. She married Teddy Smith on May 16, 2002 at St Paul’s Catholic Church in Genesee, Wisconsin.

Tater Tot was a wild spirit. Every person she met she considered to be her friend. She enjoyed long walks and attending community events.

Tater worked a long career as a grief therapy dog for Thelen Funeral Services. She was a bright face in many families darkest times. Her presence will be missed by many.

Surviving Tater is her mother Micki Thelen, brother Yondu Thelen and many other friends and family members.

Preceding her in death are her grandparents Kris and Tim Thelen and her husband Teddy Smith.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the dedicated doctors and nurses at Waukesha Memorial for your excellent care of Tater Tot.

Funeral Services for Tater will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at 11:30AM at Thelen Funeral Services (560 Bay View Road, Mukwonago). Visitation will be held from 10:00AM until the time of services. Private family burial will be held a t a later date.
